Pixel Babes
dance performance, 2006, 64'
After two solos, Madame K (2004) and Lui (2005), Nicole Seiler created Pixel Babes, a choreography for three dancers. This show once again questions the idea of perfect beauty and the ideal body with the help of video images, projected even onto the dancers' bodies. Divided into ten different tableaux, Pixel Babes, investigates a succession of contexts in which the body is sublimated and forced to resemble imposed and stereotypical images. From the aerobic craze for the numerous videos of Jane Fonda or Cindy Crawford we pass into the world of fashion, plastic surgery and video clips.
